Masterclass with Jo Davies - Throwing with Porcelain

Masterclass with Jo Davies - Throwing with Porcelain

1 Day Masterclass | Throwing with Porcelain | 21 January 2018 | 10am-5pm | £270 |

This one day Master Class will give students important insights into the complexities of wheel-throwing porcelain. Taking you through step by step, highlighting the differences between porcelain and ordinary clays. By starting with some simple exercises and moving on to more challenging shapes, all of which are designed to help you navigate this beautiful but tricky material and to give you a foundation of knowledge on which you can build in your own practice. The class is for people who have had some experience of wheel-throwing and are keen to deepen their knowledge. It is also for people who may have begun with porcelain already but are facing recurring challenges that they would like to troubleshoot - there will be time for some individual work with Jo. Overall it will be an opportunity to spend an intensive period of time increasing your skills under Jo's expert guidance.

Please note that the masterclass is focussed on skill building so students should not expect to take pieces home after the class but if you wish to fire a piece, this can be arranged on the day at an extra cost.

The price includes all porcelain and materials. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the day.

Please feel free to bring your own throwing tools if you would feel more comfortable with those.

Please bring an apron and a packed lunch (or you can go to one of our lovely local cafes when we break for lunch). .
