Masterclass with Robert Cooper| "Printing on Clay" | Sunday 21 May | 10am - 5pm | All levels | £220 |

220.00

This one day intensive workshop will be taught by the highly acclaimed and talented potter, Robert Cooper. Robert has been an important teacher and mentor to Stine over the years so she is especially thrilled that he has agreed to do a workshop in her studio.

In the workshop, Robert will focus on various print making techniques varying from how to silk screen print onto clay to printing with slips and oxides. Robert will be bringing along some of his own work as examples. Robert is known for his unorthodox approaches to the materials we use as potters, so be prepared for a day full of inspiration, fun and surprises!

The class is open to all levels and there will be maximum ten students in the class.

Please note that the masterclass is focussed on skill building so students should not expect to take pieces home after the class but if you wish to fire a piece, this can be arranged on the day at an extra cost.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COURSE

The price includes all clay and materials. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the day.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring an apron and a packed lunch (or you can go to one of our lovely local cafes when we break for lunch). .

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Robert Cooper is an established ceramicist who has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. He is fascinated by the persistence of artefacts and ideas. He often uses found objects, such as pottery shards from the Thames foreshore, which are imbued with a previous life and function, as a starting point for his work.

He has, for many years, employed recycling as a mode of working. Different elements such as clays, oxides and glazes left over from teaching sessions, discontinued ceramic transfers, printed imagery from popular culture and even pieces of previous work are recombined to create new narratives with multiple meanings.

WHERE

The master class is taught at our beautiful studio in Hackney, 90 De Beauvoir Road, N1 4EN.
