Escape the hustle and slow down with some mindful making in our cosy, Scandinavian-inspired studio in Clapton. This is your chance to unplug, have fun, and play with clay in this tile making class.

Together, you’ll explore the playful world of tile decorating—dabbling in slip painting, quirky patterns, and even a fancy technique called sgraffito (that’s Italian for “scratchy fun”… or close enough). Our expert teacher will be on hand to help imaginations run wild, and bring out your inner illustrator. 

You will decorate two tiles, which we’ll then fire with love and glaze for a glossy, waterproof finish. They’ll be ready to collect 8 weeks after the class.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring clothes that can get dirty, positive energy and ideas!

We will send you our student handbook a few days prior to the start of the class, with all the information that you need to know. You are welcome to bring your own apron, or you can purchase a SkandiHus apron here. Please choose “local pickup” if you would like to avoid delivery fees and collect your apron during your class.

We do our best to keep things gentle on the planet—recycling materials, using renewable energy, and keeping waste to a minimum. You can help too by reusing your course materials where possible and bringing your own packaging when collecting finished pieces.

In the heart of beautiful Clapton, this studio is a short walk from Hackney Downs and Hackney Central, with great bus links to the city.

Refund Policy

We’re a small, ethically run business - which means we pay our lovely team properly and keep our classes as accessible as possible. To make that work, we offer refunds up to 28 days before the start of your class. After that, refunds aren’t possible — so please do a happy little calendar dance before booking to double-check your dates!

That said, life happens! If things go sideways: 

🤍 Up to 28 days before your class, you can receive a full refund.

🤍 You can swap your booking to another Taster Class up to 14 days before your session.

🤍 Inside 14 days? No swaps, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a mate or family member (spread the clay joy!).  

Why so strict?
Each weekend, we get numerous last-minute change requests. If we said yes to all of them, we’d have to choose between cutting staff wages or hiking prices - and both options would make us really sad. By sticking to this policy, we keep things fair, keep our team happy, and keep our studios thriving.
