“FILL YOUR CUP” - MAKE A CANDLE HOLDER & KIRTAN | SATURDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2025 | 4.00-8.00PM | N1 STUDIO

Recharge your inner light with a restorative evening of clay, kirtan and community.

As the nights grow darker, and the world grows heavier, all that is needed to light a thousand candles is one candles lighting another, that lights another, that lights another… Let’s gather and make the world a brighter place together.

Join Skandihus founder Stine Dulong and Oh Shala Festival founder Emily Cobie in a workshop that will take you through the immersive journey of building your very own traditional dinner candle holder. The evening will then crescendo with kirtan and mantra meditation, nestled amongst new friends and warm cups of tea.

As always, no prior experience is necessary - just bring an open heart and curiosity for clay and kirtan!

Nobody can pour from an empty cup, and we hope this workshop will allow us all to fill ours to the brim so we are refreshed, grounded and ready to face the world with joy.

About the Workshop

Stine will kick off the afternoon with a pottery workshop, using the magical powers of clay to help us to connect with our inner creative child in mindful exploration. Inspired by her childhood in Denmark, we will make a beautiful candle holder to get you all ready for some winter “hygge”.

The group will be able to relax and have some tea home made vegan cake, and get to know each other before the kirtan begins.

To finish the evening, Emily will gently lead us through a Kirtan to open our hearts as we chant and sing together, weaving magic and collective healing.

4.00pm Welcome and intros

4:15pm Candle Stick Holder Making

6.15pm Tea and Biscuits

6.30pm Kirtan

8.00pm Goodbyes and hugs (for those that want one)

ABOUT EMILY COBIE

Emily Cobie is the founder of Oh Shala Festival, and a student of Bhakti Yoga.

She is devoted to sharing the power of mantra and chanting through Kirtan as a pathway to divinity and collective connection. She began her journey 8 years ago studying Vedic chanting with Ajay Kumar and has since learned from teachers and artists including Sheela Bringi, Sivani Mata, and Ahisha Dasi.

Inspired by time in Vrindavan with Radhika Das & Friends, Emily now shares Kirtan across the UK, holding a monthly gathering in Marlow as part of the Oh Shala Festival. Rooted in love, kindness, and community, her offering is an invitation to open the heart through song and shared devotion.

ABOUT STINE DULONG

Stine Dulong is the founder of SkandiHus pottery studios. She quit her corporate lawyer job in 2013 to become a full time potter. For her, clay was a gateway into transformation. Not only did it become her career, and change the structure of her life on the surface, but it fundamentally shifted who she is and how she perceives the world. Through pottery, she found a way into a slower, more mindful and joyous way of existing. It’s now her greatest privilege to see the profound positive effects working with clay has on her students.

Stine is also a bhakti yogi, infusing her spiritual practices into everything she does from running the business to teaching yoga and pottery, and facilitating retreats. For her, bhakti yoga is not just a way of life, it is life.

A small note on sustainability & values

We do our best to keep things gentle on the planet—recycling materials, using renewable energy, and keeping waste to a minimum. You can help too by reusing your course materials where possible and bringing your own packaging when collecting finished pieces.

We believe business can be a force for good—so alongside running joyful, creative studios, we’re committed to doing things properly:

  • Paying all staff London Living Wage or above

  • Running all kilns and wheels on 100% renewable energy

  • Keeping our spaces kind, inclusive and stress-free

  • Supporting causes like the ARC food bank and Ella’s, a charity helping survivors of trafficking

  • Donating profits from unclaimed pots to charity

  • Planting trees each year with One Tree Planted

Refund Policy

We’re a small, ethically run business - which means we pay our lovely team properly and keep our classes as accessible as possible. To make that work refunds aren’t possible on our workshops — so please do a happy little calendar dance before booking to double-check your dates!

That said, life happens! If things go sideways:

🤍 You can swap your Workshop booking to another Taster Class up to 14 days before your session.

🤍 Inside 14 days? No swaps, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a mate or family member (spread the clay joy!).

Why so strict?
Each weekend, we get numerous last-minute change requests. If we said yes to all of them, we’d have to choose between cutting staff wages or hiking prices - and both options would make us really sad. By sticking to this policy, we keep things fair, keep our team happy, and keep our studios thriving.

Thanks for understanding - now let’s get making! 🤍✨🤍
