MAKE A MATCHA SET WORKSHOP | SATURDAY 16TH AUGUST 2025 | 4:30-7:00PM | N1 STUDIO

£90.00

MAKE A MATCHA SET WORKSHOP | SATURDAY 16TH AUGUST 2025 | 4:30-7:00PM | N1 STUDIO

In this calming two-hour workshop, you’ll hand-build your own two-piece matcha set: a matcha cup/bowl and a whisk stand.

Each participant will be gifted a traditional bamboo matcha whisk to take home, so you’ll end up with everything you need (except the matcha!) to slow down and sip in style.

We will start with a brief introduction to the studio and the materials. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, you’ll find the environment welcoming and supportive. Using a combination of ‘pinching’ and slab building techniques, our teacher will guide you through the steps.

Each piece will be glazed in our studio Tenmoku glaze, a beautiful dark bronze colour with gold intonations that will make your bright green matcha glow. Please see the photos above to get an idea of the finished look.

Your creations will be ready for collection within eight weeks.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COURSE

The price includes all clay, materials, and firings. On collection of your finished glazed pieces your set will be completed with your own matcha whisk.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring clothes that can get dirty, positive energy and ideas!

We will send you our student handbook a few days prior to the start of the class, with all the information that you need to know. You are welcome to bring your own apron, or you can purchase a SkandiHus apron here. Please choose “local pickup” if you would like to avoid delivery fees and collect your apron during your class.

A small note on sustainability & values

We do our best to keep things gentle on the planet—recycling materials, using renewable energy, and keeping waste to a minimum. You can help too by reusing your course materials where possible and bringing your own packaging when collecting finished pieces.

We believe business can be a force for good—so alongside running joyful, creative studios, we’re committed to doing things properly:

– Paying all staff London Living Wage or above

– Keeping our spaces kind, inclusive and stress-free

– Supporting causes like the ARC food bank and Ella’s, a charity helping survivors of trafficking

– Donating profits from unclaimed pots to charity

– Planting trees each year with One Tree Planted

WHERE

SkandiHus, 90 De Beauvoir Road, London, N1 4EN.

Our newly refurbished De Beauvoir Studio is a short walk away from both Haggerston and Dalston Station, as well as Essex Road.

Refund Policy

We’re a small, ethically run business - which means we pay our lovely team properly and keep our classes as accessible as possible. To make that work, we offer refunds up to 28 days before the start of your class. After that, refunds aren’t possible — so please do a happy little calendar dance before booking to double-check your dates!

That said, life happens! If things go sideways:

🤍 Up to 28 days before your class, you can receive a full refund.

🤍 You can swap your booking to another Taster Class up to 14 days before your session.

🤍 Inside 14 days? No swaps, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a mate or family member (spread the clay joy!).

Why so strict?
Each weekend, we get numerous last-minute change requests. If we said yes to all of them, we’d have to choose between cutting staff wages or hiking prices - and both options would make us really sad. By sticking to this policy, we keep things fair, keep our team happy, and keep our studios thriving.

Thanks for understanding - now let’s get making! 🤍✨🤍
