We are really proud to share our Deluxe Clay Kit with you. A lot of love has gone into making these kits and best of all, absolutely no prior experience is necessary, as it comes with full instructions (video and written/illustrated).

The Deluxe Kit includes 1kg of air-dry clay, a wooden modelling tool, a paintbrush, a heart-shaped sponge (it may look unassuming, but add water and watch it expand like it’s fallen in love!), an incense stick and a tea-light, six pots of paint (blue, green, red, black, white and yellow). Finally, the kit contains a pot of gloss paint, to give your finished pieces that “freshly glazed” look. Our snazzy Instruction Manual contains a step-by-step guide, links to our lookbook and to our specially-curated SkandiHus clay kit playlist. The manual also includes a link to an exclusive video made by SkandiHus founder, Stine Dulong, which talks you through how to make your clay creations.

The Deluxe Kit will provide you with 3-4 medium-sized pots. Our kit contains air-dry clay. That means when your piece is complete, it doesn’t need to be fired. It can be admired and adored immediately! Please note that air-dry clay is not waterproof or food-safe, so pots will not be suitable for eating or drinking from. They make for wonderful decorations, and would be suitable for small sculptures, candleholders, storing trinkets, or for holding small plants which don’t require much water.

Our clay kits are sent out once a week on Mondays. We have two shipping options, which can be selected during checkout.

Royal Mail 2nd Class Shipping:
Please place your order by Monday 10:00am for it to be sent out that day. Orders received after this time will be sent the following Monday.

DHL/Parcelforce:
Please place your order by Friday 10:00am to ensure it can be sent out the following Monday.

If you would like to avoid delivery fees please select “local pickup” at checkout, and select the Lower Clapton (E5) studio- just bring your confirmation email with you. Please note that Clay Kits cannot be collected from our other studios.

Eco-Consciousness

At SkandiHus we do everything we can to limit our impact on the environment. In our studios we recycle as much material as possible; from our clay and glazes, to spare containers, and even spare kitchen utensils and make-up brushes. Our electricity comes from 100% renewable sources (this includes the electricity used to power our kilns), and any gas we use is 100% carbon-neutral. Therefore, it was important to us to make conscious decisions about our kits and how we sourced the contents:

• Our Instruction Manual is made from 100% recycled paper, and printed with vegetable-based inks.

• Our cards are printed on recycled and recyclable paper.

• We use 100% recyclable and biodegradable protective paper wrap in the boxes.

• Instead of overloading you with tools, many of which may never be used and could end-up in a landfill, our kits contain one special multi-functional wooden tool. Our hand-building projects will help you utilise the best tools in the world for ceramics: your own hands!

• We've limited the amount of plastic in our kits as much as possible; the paint jars are made from recyclable glass, and the plastic sheet covering your clay can be reused for covering your work in progress, stopping it from drying out.

We care deeply about the impact we have on the world around us, but we also make sure that our version of eco-consciousness never compromises the quality of our kits!
