About the Course

​August, we’re opening up the studio for our younger clay lovers for a week of clay, creativity, and space to explore.

A one-week immersive for ages 10–17. blending hand-building and wheel throwing, with plenty of time to experiment, get messy, and make pieces they’re genuinely proud of.

We keep things guided but open, so imagination leads and skills follow. No pressure, just making (and a lot of fun along the way).

The week finishes with a glazing session on Saturday 29 August, 1–4pm. All levels welcome.

Our teacher is DBS checked, so children can be dropped off for the full session. Please bring lunch and snacks for a relaxed 30-minute break each day.

Materials

On their first day, everyone will receive a SkandiHus apron, tool kit and tote bag to use during the course, and take home with them afterwards. It’s our little way of welcoming them into the studio.

The course includes unlimited clay, slips and glazes. They’ll be working with our buff stoneware clay and have access to a wide range of tools, moulds, and our signature studio glazes, all mixed in-house and used by our founder, Stine, in her own practice.

What to Bring

Please bring clothes that can get dirty, creative energy and ideas!

We recommend bringing a towel, a bottle of water and lunch.

We will send you our student handbook prior to the start of the course, with all the information that you need to know.

What if I miss a class?

Please note that we cannot accommodate students making up missed classes at other times, nor can we allow students to swap their classes to another date. Please therefore make sure before booking that you can attend all dates including the glaze session.

A small note on sustainability & values

We do our best to keep things gentle on the planet—recycling materials, using renewable energy, and keeping waste to a minimum. You can help too by reusing your course materials where possible and bringing your own packaging when collecting finished pieces.

In the heart of vibrant Walthamstow, our studio sits on a charming cobbled mews and is a short walk from both Walthamstow Central and Queen’s Road.

Refund Policy

Our summer intensive courses are exchangeable up until 28 days prior to the start of the course. After this, your booking is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

We’re a small, ethically run business - which means we pay our lovely team properly and keep our classes as accessible as possible. To make that work, we can’t offer refunds with less than 28 days notice, so please do a happy little calendar dance before booking to double-check your dates.

That said, life happens! If things go sideways: 

🤍 Inside 28 days? No swaps, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a mate or family member (spread the clay joy!).  

Why so strict?
Each weekend, we get numerous last-minute change requests. If we said yes to all of them, we’d have to choose between cutting staff wages or hiking prices - and both options would make us really sad. By sticking to this policy, we keep things fair, keep our team happy, and keep our studios thriving.
