Kirtan and Make a Matcha Bowl

We are excited to welcome you into our Walthamstow studio for a special evening of pottery and mantra meditation, led by the wonderful Dom Hatcher and our founder, Stine Dulong. This event is open to anyone looking for creativity, connection and community. No prior experience in pottery or mantra chanting necessary.

Combining music and mantra, kirtan offers a rich, immersive experience that has the power to change the world, one heart at a time.

About the Workshop

4.00-6.00pm - Make a Matcha Bowl pottery workshop with Stine Dulong.
6.15-8.00pm - Kirtan with Dom Hatcher & friends

In a playful, meditative exploration of touch, you will learn to create a matcha pouring bowl using an ancient pottery technique called “pinching”. This simple yet profound pottery skill involves shaping clay by hand, allowing us to reconnect our hearts, hands, and minds. Clay also has a magical way of connecting us with ourselves, each other and the world around us.

Following a short tea break, Dom will guide us through a beautiful kirtan. "Kirtan" is a call and response musical meditation that is simple to learn and quickly brings a sense of joy and peace. This ancient practice, dating back over 5,000 years, can be embraced by anyone. You don't need to be a great singer, a yoga practitioner, or follow any specific beliefs to experience the power of kirtan. All you need is an open mind and your voice! During this event, we will focus on connecting with our hearts and nourishing our spirits, helping us become more present and grounded.

ABOUT DOM HATCHER

Dom began his yoga journey in his early 20s but only discovered Kirtan in 2018. The depth of emotion and devotion he felt at his first Kirtan left a lasting imprint, inspiring him to buy a harmonium and begin learning right away. Since then, he has devoted himself to Bhakti Yoga, completing multiple trainings and making pilgrimage to India to immerse himself in its origins and sacred sites.

He has been facilitating Kirtans in the UK since 2019, first within yoga workshops and soon as a dedicated practice. Since then, Dom has led and participated in hundreds of Kirtans across the UK, Europe, South & Central America, and India. Today, he runs monthly Kirtans in Henley-on-Thames and surrounding areas, and continues to share Bhakti at festivals and events worldwide. For Dom, Bhakti Yoga is a path of service, transformation, and gratitude—one he is honoured to share with others.

ABOUT STINE DULONG

Stine Dulong is the founder of SkandiHus pottery studios. She quit her corporate lawyer job in 2013 to become a full-time potter. For her, clay was a gateway into transformation. Not only did it become her career and change the structure of her life on the surface, but it also fundamentally shifted who she is and how she perceives the world. Through pottery, she found a way into a slower, more mindful, and joyous way of existing. It’s now her greatest privilege to witness the profound positive effects that working with clay has on her students.

Stine is also a bhaki yogi, infusing her spritiual practices into everything she does from running the business to teaching yoga and pottery, and running retreats. For her, yoga is not just a way of life, it is life.

REFUND POLICY

We’re a small, ethically run business - which means we pay our lovely team properly and keep our classes as accessible as possible. To make that work, we offer refunds up to 28 days before the start of your class. After that, refunds aren’t possible, so please do a happy little calendar dance before booking to double-check your dates!

That said, life happens! If things go sideways:

🤍 Up to 28 days before your class, you can receive a full refund.

🤍 You can swap your booking to another Taster Class up to 14 days before your session.

🤍 Inside 14 days? No swaps, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a mate or family member (spread the clay joy!).

Why so strict?
Each weekend, we get numerous last-minute change requests. If we said yes to all of them, we’d have to choose between cutting staff wages or hiking prices, and both options would make us really sad. By sticking to this policy, we keep things fair, keep our team happy, and our studios thriving.

Thanks for understanding - now let’s get making! 🤍✨🤍
