You can sign up for our class email list below if you would like to be notified when new classes go online.
All our classes run for 12 weeks, cater for all levels and are taught by experienced practising potters. There are only 12 students in each class, so there will be plenty of individual attention during the course. Simply sign up, and a couple of days before the start of the course you will receive a handbook (by email) containing all the essential information you need to know.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During the 12 week course, you will be taught both how to hand build and throw on the potter's wheel. More experienced students will be helped to improve their existing skills.
You can expect to make between 6-12 pieces during the course. Please note that you will not be able to bring home all of your finished pieces in the last class due to the many stages involved in the making process. You will be able to come back to pick up your pieces a couple of weeks after the end of your course. In the event that your pieces are not ready to be glazed in the last class, we will arrange for you to come back in another class to glaze your last pieces.
Once a piece has been fired, the clay cannot be recycled and therefore there is a small charge of £4 per kg of clay to be fired. We recycle all unfired waste clay at the studio and many of Stine's SkandiHus pieces are made from this recycled clay. Your teacher will point you to the appropriate buckets to put your unwanted waste clay in. Thank you for helping us look after our environment.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds for courses cancelled by the student with less than 14 days notice before the start of the course (but we will help you try to find someone else to take over your spot, if you have to cancel your class).

At Skandihus we offer an alternative way to connect and relax using the healing powers of clay.
Whether you are planning a corporate event, a team building activity or just want to have fun with friends, we would love to welcome you into our beautiful de Beauvoir studio for a session of making away from the distractions of the outside world.
We can cater the event to your specific needs, and are happy to take suggestions. Some examples of events that we run are:
- Networking events (e.g. wine, nibbles, and an introduction to basic pottery techniques)
- Hen/Stag parties (e.g. champagne, nibbles, and a chance to make beautiful cups, name cards or perhaps vases for the wedding table)
- Team Building (e.g. drinks, food and team creative projects)
- Christmas Parties (e.g. mulled wine, festive snacks and a chance to make Christmas decorations or tea-light holders)
Private events start at £450 (for up to 10 people, thereafter £45 per head) for a 2,5 hour class with a private teacher.
After the event, we will fire and glaze the pieces which will be ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after the event. Please see below for examples of the type of work made at our private events.
We are happy to tailor the event to your needs. Please contact Stine for details and availability (email@example.com/0778 987 4147)
